Description

A woman who’s lost everything.

Taylor is looking for peace and quiet away from the memories of all she’s lost. A small mountain town where no one knows her seems like the perfect escape.

A man battling the ghosts of his past.

Walker loves his life just the way it is. His town, his family, his brothers in blue. Everything simple and easy—until a chance encounter changes it all.

When Taylor’s solitude is interrupted by the rugged cop, they find that the very thing they were avoiding might be just what they both need. As their iron wills clash and passion flares…a killer lurks.

And you never know who might be caught in the crosshairs.

Oh my gosh, I loved this book so much! Even though I guessed who the bad guy was fairly early in, there were still some twists I never expected. It was a wonderful mystery and love story. I can’t wait to read the next book!! This author just jumped up to one of my top 3! Awesome.

Great story but had to skip over the sex scenes. I feel like I need to bleach my eyeballs even with skipping over the explicit sex scenes to get to the next chapter.

Interesting story line but unnecessary profanity has me stopping just a few chapters into the book. Won’t finish this one.

Beautifully Broken Pieces is just that, a novel about two beautifully broken people that find their way to each other, and find a love that neither one of them can ignore. While discovering that love, Walker and Taylor will be tested time and time again. This book will take you through the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows, but that is what makes it a must read. Catherine Cowles has cemented herself as one of my favorite authors, and I won't hesitate to one click anything she releases. Thank you for Beautifully Broken Pieces, and I know I can speak for the rest of your fans when I say we can't wait for more Sutter Lake!

309 pages in under 24 hours. I couldn’t put this book down. Catherine is a new to me author and I must say, I am now a total fan! This book had me from the beginning. I forget how much I love romantic suspense ❤️ for the first time in a long time, the book had me thrown! I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I was left shocked. I felt deeply for the pain of both Taylor and Walker. The author’s descriptions put you right there with those two and you felt their pain. A tear or two may have fallen while I was reading this. I can not wait for more from the Sutter Lake Series!

READ THIS BOOK! I really don’t need to say anything else. Every emotion you could get from book is in this story. I live for a good love story and a hot steamy romance novel but this story gives you so much more. A story of fierce love and mystery. This book stands out over so many romance books because it has the added mystery of the killer to it. My stomach was in knots so many times while reading this that I had to put it down several times and take breather. I can’t recommend this story enough and I am so excited that it is a series and we get to see where these chapters and others in the story I wanted to know more about go!! Thank you thank you Catherine for this amazing story!!!!

Wow! Five HUGE stars! I can’t believe this is only Catherine Cowles second book. I’m in love with her style of writing. Every word built a compelling romance and the suspense of the storyline had me rushing to find out who was the villian. I never once figured out who that was until it was revealed. I love a love story/mystery combination, especially when the plot isn’t rushed but instead just unfolds at the perfect pace. I can’t wait to see how Catherine grows as a writer because she’s already brilliant.
  • Great combo of suspense/thriller and romance!

HOLY CANNOLI THIS BOOK! I had no expectations going into reading this, and it is the first book I read of Catherine’s, but let me tell you that I am a lifer after this book! Personally, I love books that have both a suspenseful/thriller theme in addition to the romance and this one is probably in my top 5. The emotion I could feel coming off the pages from Taylor made my heart break and tear up as if she was real. I could also feel how Walker’s past had shaped his entire life in addition to dictating his future. Seeing the two come together was the best thing for both of them, as they helped each other heal as individuals as well as a couple. I was completely thrown when finding out who was killing the women, and while I had a feeling I knew the reason why the women were being taken, I was so shocked in finding out who it was! And by the end with the second twist – holy cannoli I did not see that one coming at all! I also enjoyed Catherine’s style of writing; the flow of the story was perfect, and while I hadn’t read any previous books, I felt that in the beginning the backstory and prologue was enough that I was caught up and understood moving forward. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, between the characters, the storyline, and the author that I actually couldn’t put the book down and ended up staying up way past my bedtime and finishing it in one sitting. I will definitely be catching up on all Catherine’s books and pre-ordering the next installment in this series because there are so many questions I have and characters I want to see next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
